She is innocent. She’s naïve. She is a damsel who dazzles all young men with her fascinating beauty and charm. She is Julia.
You will be able to meet Julia when she unspools her magic on the silver screen soon.
Julia – the first London-Lanka Sinhala movie co-production is almost complete and the movie’s premiere is due to be held in London – a first for a Lankan film.
Award-winning young actress Nadeesha Hemamali plays the title role in the film which is directed by debutante Sampath Sri Roshan and produced by Charith Abeysinghe.
Major parts of the film were being picturised in several breathtaking locales in Sri Lanka while the London schedule has just been completed.
Both Sampath and Charith also play pivotal roles as Dev and Dilru in the movie which also features seasoned campaigners like Ravindra Randeniya, Robin Fernando, Veena Jayakody, Sriyantha Mendis, Rex Kodippily, Sasanthi Jayasekara and others.
Julia is a girl who fascinates young men with her beauty and charm. Unfortunately, the youth (Dilru) who steals her heart is a cunning manipulator. Julia falls head over heels in love with Dilru, not being aware of his calibre. Dilru flies to Sri Lanka from England after he is suspected of involvement in a murder of a young Sri Lankan expatriate. Julia’s whole life takes a new turn with this fateful meeting.
Meanwhile, Dev, Dilru’s best friend comes to Sri Lanka in search of his friend. Dev’s accidental meeting with Julia also gives the tale a new twist.
Julia is the first Sinhala film that has adopted the latest high definition technology.
